bon iver-skinny love was another song on that cd. (another was this jesus and mary chain song, damn jacs!) i love this song. i love it when he makes those ma-ma-ma noises. luke and i drove the car to eganville the day after the funeral. we left eganville in 1995 and neither had been back since. i was excited. more so because i don’t often get a chance to spend time with luke. we drove though woods and woods it felt like. eastern ontario has a beauty to it that makes everyone look like they farm cheese. i only saw cheese farmers driving through small towns, listening to bon iver, guiltily smoking cigarettes while the smoke stayed in the car, in luke’s lungs.

we looked in the old church long enough that 20 minutes later when a car pulled into the lot no longer making us the only church go-ers, we thought the small town had risen to arms to save the church from two out of town looters. they hadn’t. it was other tourists who were very friendly. but only after we made the first move. friendly first.
